On Friday, April 27th, some spammers posted more than 50 messages, many containing pornographic photos, to our message boards. In attempting to remove them, The Advice Sisters crashed (and then was forced to delete) the current bulletin board system.

 

We tried to resurrect this popular board, with more than 3,500 subscribers. Alas, as usual, GoDaddy (our host provider) is asking for a huge sum of money to re-instate the database to a time last week before the spammers ravaged the system (even though the board program we used was provided directly through them).

 

I provided the FORUMS area as a place for Advice Sisters readers to connect, network, give and get advice, and generally, help make life easier, more successful and more fun. The only way to deal with spammers is swiftly. The board was moderated, and anyone who spammed had their posts removed, and then they were banned. However, we were truly overwhelmed by this incident.

 

I hope that a few let a few bad "netizens" won't destroy two years of hard and positive effort!
