Wednesday is traditionally the “hump day” of the week, but during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week it signifies the second to last day of the runway shows. Here’s what caught my eye in and around the tents, yesterday:
dancing waters of the Lincoln Center Fountain are cool, and amusing
some of the very hard working (and very nice) security who check credentials and guests
First up for me was Rochambeau, in The Box. These clothes are definitely “rock star” chic, but on the right man, they come alive!

sometimes "fashion" falls a bit flat, but the red shoes and ripped stockings are eye catching

Time for a quick Break in the American Express Lounge area, with Glam TV host Cognac Wellerlane
- even I didn’t get an official Mercedes Benz Fashion Week swag bag, but American Express cardmembers at the Skybox, DO!
The American Express Skybox gives premium card members a chance to feel the glamour, without the lines and the “attitude” at the tents. Guests get discounts, surprises, food (sorely lacking) and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beveragesm and even the official ”swag bag.”

After every show, a celebrity visits. I saw Chado Ralph Rucci and Milly up there yesterday–delightful!!! You can’t really take photos unless you have a super-fast lens, because flash would disturb people watching the runway, below (and the flash bounces back from the skybox windows) but there are also huge screens that show every detail as the models are walking below you–sort of thrilling!

Gorgeous leather jackets displayed at the Porsche Lounge
Finally, a quick visit to the Porsche Lounge for a little R&R and some gorgeous leather goods to oogle. A new store will be opening in SOHO this Fall, and I hope to be there!
