Redken Creative Consultant Guido sent the models at the Reed Krakoff Fall 2013 show down the runway this afternoon with clean, rich blow-outs that complemented the designer’s polished, well-cut collection in a variety of rich textured materials from cashmere to leather.
“I didn’t want this blow dry to feel too fresh or perfect, I wanted it to feel a little old, like it might be on the second day. It’s straight, but still with the memory of the shape [made by blowing drying with a round brush], so it feels luxurious but not in an obviously luxurious way. It’s a minimal idea for hair. Reed Krakoff is a newer New York designer who creates very modern styles, so there’s not a larger conic reference, and this hairstyle is thus really for a woman of today, and is more about a feeling than it is about a set style.”

Redken Products Used:
- powder refresh 01 aerosol hair powder/dry shampoo
- NEW Diamond Oil Shampoo & Conditioner (launches MAY 1)
Create the Look:
- Wash hair using Diamond Oil shampoo and conditioner to start the style with clean, fresh hair.
- Create a messy center part.
- Section hair and blow-dry with a round brush, letting each section cool on the brush.
- Guido then blow-dried the hair again quickly once done and added powder refresh 01 aerosol hair powder/dry shampoo to the lengths, to create a more “lived in” texture and a matte finish.

It’s also update to the ponytail that’s a good option for a woman who wants to pull off a wet, shiny look but finds it tough to wear that look with her hair down- in a pony the look feels more controlled. Redken Products Used:
- full frame 07 all over volumizing mousse
- NEW control addict 28 high control hairspray
Create the Look:
- Starting with slightly damp hair, saturate with full frame 07 mousse working section by section and adding most on the crown.
- Rake style back with fingers and secure into a low pony with an elastic.
- Clip the sides of the pony in place and gently pull hair up at the crown so that it dries with a little height.
- Let air dry. (Guido used blow dryers given timing guido diesel 2 at the show, spraying control addict 28 high control hairspray into the style as he dried.)
- Spray control addict 28 high control hairspray all over finished style for extra hold. Guido “overused” the hairspray for a laquer-like finish that would stay in place for the duration of the show.
