What makes a new makeup line unique? Sometimes it’s the packaging, sometimes it’s the products, and sometimes it’s a fusion of these, plus something else. For example, MAKE is the first for-benefit color cosmetics line that is found on WeSeeBeauty.com - a for-benefit marketplace (of ideas, stories and products) that support the We See Beauty foundation, a non-profit organization. One-third of all MAKE product sales will support the non-profit, which is dedicated to incubating and accelerating women-led, worker owned cooperatives. The initial project for the We See Beauty foundation is “Do Good Be Beautiful” a Brooklyn-based cooperative that will create and sell its own healthy cleaning and personal care products.
Before I go into the MAKE makeup line, here’s a visual about how We See Beauty, Works:
Makes sense, doesn’t it? But the makeup is not just one that helps to do good in the world, it looks good, too. In addition to the complete range of core products, some of which are depicted in the photo at the top of this page, MAKE will pair two unique artists each season to create a concept collection. The first partnership pairs furniture and interiors designer Faye Toogood (who has worked with Opening Ceremony, Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen) with makeup artist Ayami Nishimura to create the New Medieval Collection. This is the Too Good Palette is colorful and looks to be fun to use.The Advice Sisters checked out a Luminous Lip Gloss( ours, “Belle du Jour,” a barely-there, very sheer, pink shimmer). It layers nicely over a trendy moistly matte lipstick called “Putty.” This very nude lipstick look isn’t for everyone because it really does essentially nude out your lips. However, everyone is going to like the simple, black and clear cases to go with the colors. The Lip Gloss is applied with a sponge-tipped wand, but it has an unusually-shaped tip that is more like a flat spatula on one side making it easier to apply the silky gloss.
We also tried a Matte Finish Blush called “Cinnabar.” This hot pink blush is not only intense, it is very bright, probably most flattering on the deepest complexions, but we experimented with it, blending a teeny tiny bit out as a blush, dabbing it on our lips as a stain, and even on our eyes, for a very trendy look. 
Make’s matte eye shadow is easy to apply and stays true to color. We tried “Reishi,” an intense, silky eggshell that makes a nice base for another color and can also be used as a highlighter or a lid color. The silky and smooth formula made it really easy to love. With 21 shades to choose from, you’re going to have a great time selecting your favorites.
