clinique all smooth repairwear laser focus SPF 15Also from Clinique is wonderful, new, liquid makeup, launching this month:   Repairwear Laser Focus All-Smooth Makeup SPF 15 ($32.50). This foundation doesn’t just cover flaws and even out your skin tone, it has a bunch of good-for-your-skin ingredients that make this a beauty treatment, too. There are a bunch of exotic sounding things in this foundation, including ultrasomes that work over time to help visibly repair UV sun damage. FYI” Ultrasomes are liposomes engineered to carry an extract from a marine microbe, intensifying the skin’s ability to repair sun-inflicted DNA damage, speeding recovery reaction, and reducing the appearance of post-sunburn peeling. Oligopeptide and Siegesbeckia Orientalis Extract (from the herb Siegesbeckia orientalis L. used to soothe inflammation and stimulate wound healing, which it does through tissue regeneration by way of collagen matrix build-up), plus Palmitoyl (peptide which is actually responsibility for stimulating collagen production in the body), help to support skin, while whey protein helps deal with lines and wrinkles. Murmuru seed butter aedds strength to your skin’s moisture barrier, while Vitamin E provides antioxidant protection and there’s also SPF 15 to provide at least a minimal amount UV sun protection. From a beauty perspective, the fact that it comes in a dozen shades from light to deep, for skin types I and II, makes it an escelelnt choice for just about everyone. Since it’s Clinique, it’s also allergy, tested, 100% fragrance free, ophthlamologist tested, oil free, and non-acnegenic. That’s a lot to ask from a little, frosted glass bottle of makeup, but Clinique, as usual, delivers the goods. Get the right shade for your skin and it blends, literally, into your complexion so you see only a smooth, moistly matte face. A miracle? Maybe!
Makeup kit
mark Super Flip Color Kit
If you read my reviews regularly, you know that I am a personal fan of MARK. The products are always user-friendly, trendy (but not over-the-top), uniquely packaged, and of course, priced for even the most meager beer-and-peanuts budget.  For Fall, MARKS’s got a new collection for eyes and face that you’ll FLIP for, literally.  The Super Flip Color Kit ($20.00) has a large, square, mirrored compact designed with a metallic pink top. That in itself just makes it eye-catching, but the compact has a rotating palate that flips on it’s access,  providing access to the side with nine, intense, eye shadows, and another side with a tri-stripe of shimmered with gold, multipurpose highlighter and  illuminator.  My “flip” was a little rickety, but I love the idea of having the products you want at the moment, at the ready.  The shadows are all in runway-ready shades ranging from glittery white to deepest charcoal, with greens, blues, yellows, pinks, plums, mauves and greens, in-betwee.  Eye shadow shades: Plumify, Peep, Royaled Up, Taxi, Sky High, Tiger Lily, Fluffy, Greenery, Black Tie.  The highlighter side features sheer and layer-able colors of gold, peach and bronze.  You know you’ll want one, and stock up for the holidays because these are going to make amazing holiday gifts for your makeup-loving friends: www.meetmark.com

DURI Wine Tasting Party Nail Polish Collection

Recently, I’ve realized that Duri Cosmetics™ has developed some very fashion-forward nail polish collections.  For Fall 2011, you might want to try the six, sumptuous shades of Duri Cosmetics’ “Wine Tasting Party.” The collection features a bunch of Fall-perfect colors that will go with all your cashmeres and tweeds, and also work well with all the animal prints that are a must-have this season.  Go from a  warm plum to a deep garnet.  A standout is (561) “Cognac XO,” which is not quite rust and not quite red. It’s a modern take on both!  Another must-have is (562) “Bloody Mary.” This bold red is clear, glossy, a perfect red for any “Mad Men” fashion lover. The other colors in the collection include: (563) Pinot Noir, (564) Cabernet Sauvignon, (566) Dragontini, (567) Grape Swirl
You can purchase Duri™ nail polish, which is DBP, toluene and formaldehyde-free, by calling1-800-724-2216 or by logging on to www.duri.com. For those who love Apps, Duri has one that lets you try on any Duri™ nail color, virtually, from your Android or iPhone.

Made In The Shade

Have you noticed that when you wash a lot of dishes, you soak in a hot tub, or otherwise expose your polished nails to water, the shine and/or the color itself wear away in a flash? Misa Cosmetics has a nail laquer $7.50 that feature a balanced blend of film formers not adversely affected when exposed to water or detergents.  UV absorbers also help to maintain the color. The formula is DBP, Toluene and formaldehyde free. One of their latest collection is “Hip to My Jive: featuring six, retro shades that will have you thinking of the 50′s. The collection has subdued shades of taupe, pink, rosed-brown, coral, mint green, and olive green.  Two that are trendy, includew Got It Made In The Shade,” a very modern mint green that’s not too pastel, but has a touch of grey perfect for Fall.  “Pop The Clutch” is a medium pink that has a touch of brown to warm up the color, and it will look so great with leathers and tweeds. body shop natural roll-on lip balms

body shop natural roll-on lip balms

The Body Shop pampers your lips this Fall with The Body Shop 100% Natural Lip Roll-On ($5.00). This new lip treatment isn’t a waxy stick or a creamy balm, instead, it’s a lip oil. It’s shiny, but so luxe and silky, and also completely lightweight and non-sticky. The balms are made from natural oils and ingredients sourced from around the world, so you will know that when you’re licking your lips, you are “eating” something natural and non-toxic.  The flavors are rose, orange, coconut, berry, and mint. The rose smelled authentic (but light), and mint was tingly on my lips and a real pick me up. While I didn’t try the others, I’m sure they will be as deliciously fun as these two were.  I personally love roller-ball applicators because they’re clean and easy to use, travel-friendly, and actually, kind of fun. Plus, the rollerball actually massages your skin a bit as you apply the product.  Summer parched lips need extra TLC, especially if you want to get your lips soft and smooth enough to rock red lips this season.  Get several, and share them with your someone special!  Visit  The Body Shop nearest you or http://www.thebodyshop-usa.com
