Eve Pearl's Treasure Chest of Great Makeup!
Back in December 2009, I attended a Sassy City Chicks Shopping Event and met Eve Pearl. She is not just a personal make-up artist to the Today Show's Meredith Vieira, she is also a frequent on-air guest and expert, performing make-overs and providing make-up and beauty advice. Eve Pearl has her own line of cosmetics, and I have been wanting to try them. They're luxurious and pro-style, and unique.
For example: Most concealers are ivory or beige, but Eve Pearl's Salmon Concealer $35.00 comes in light, medium, dark and tan tones of salmon. This creamy concealer is so easy to use, it literally blends itself into your skin when all you are using are your fingertips. You can use a brush or sponge, too, of course. Peachy pink neutralizes dark blue undertones from the skin. It makes sense when you see it in action. Your dark circles are diminished, and you avoid ashy, white-ish "raccoon" eyes that you can sometimes get from an ordinary concealer. I also like the full coverage. The cream is so silky and yet, it is totally non greasy, and good for all skin types, too. It also has antioxidants such as AstaReal®/Astaxanthin, naturally harvested from the micro algae Haematococcus pluvial. Eve Pearl's literature says that among the many skin benefits is support for skin at the cellular level, with no harsh chemicals, contributes to the reduction of hyper-pigmentation, and more. That's a lot to expect from a concealer, but Eve Pearl definitely knows what she's doing.
I also like Eve Pearl's Eyes Palettes $40.00/each. A slim, square, shiny black, square mirrored compact holds six intense shadow in matte, shimmer, and pearl formulas. There are four different types, but I tried "Ultimate Eyes." I love this Ultimate Eyes palette (see photo) because the colors are modern, but wearable: a gorgeous, matte, natural cream, a warm and elegant golden pearl a shimmery rose that's not too red; a dreamy, deep chocolate brown; an intense, dark shimmery emerald green, and an inky black with the merest hint of shimmer. The shades are rich, creamy, blendable, and intense. There's also a palette featuring pinks, naturals, and a "Diva" eyes palette with berries, blues and greens. This slim palette is a true all-in-one for eyes!
For lips, Eve has created lovely, long lasting products, A real treat is her Pearliscious Lip Gloss $20.00 with sexy names like "Foreplay" (rose) "Striptease" (pink), "Menage" (apricot) and the one I tried: "Climax," (see photo) a stunning, semi-sheer, shimmery copper. The first thing I love about these is the packaging. They're in a soft, squeeze tube format, but the tube is tall and slim, and the tip is angled to make application easy and precise. The gloss itself is silky and luxurious on your lips, and it has a sweet, fruity taste. There's so much pearly shine in these glosses that your lips not only feel hydrated, they look poutier and sexier. All in all, it's a great product. I only wish there were more colors to covet.Eve Pearl has so many other excellent products...but The Advice Sisters can't bring you all of them all at once. Hopefully, we will be reviewing more in future bi-monthly Advice Sisters What Works columns, so bookmark this page and stay tuned! Meanwhile, visit the http://www.evepearl.com/Eve Pearl Web Site and you will also see free "how-to" videos showing expert Eve Pearl, in Action. Here's a sample from the Today Show:
