Palettes by Tod Young Are Color Coordinated Colognes for Your Home

Palettes by Tod Young is a unique collection of home fragrances influenced by color. That's because Tod Young believes that a beautiful scent is critical to enhancing a sense of well-being and pleasure. And where better to experience this than in the comfort and embrace of our home?

For his Palettes line, Tod used his knowledge of color and interior design to create six different color palettes: Jewel tones, neutral tones, primary tones, gray tones, and pastel tones. You could call his candles and room sprays: "cologne for your home!"

I tried the Candles. Although they are pure white, the scents reflect what Tod thinks creates a complete visual and fragrance statement of that color style. You choose the scent that most closely reflects the colors you showcase most in your home. For example, if jewel tones are what you have most of in your home, you would choose the Jewel Toned candle scent. Jewel tones express richness and joy, with bright citrus, green notes, orange, pineapple, berries, and florals, with woods, musk amber and vanilla. Do you like primary colors? Vibrant tones are expressed with scent in fruits like guava and pineapple, with white musk, vanilla, heliotrope, jasmine,and ylang ylang, among others. Does your home have mostly a neutral palette? The scent Tod has chosen for neturals is fresh and clean, with a floral bouquet fresh greens, sheer rose water, and citrus, mixed with white musk and blonde woods. Perfer pastels in your abode? The scent for pastel is cool and calm, feminine and floral. It has a ladylike mix of fresh green, cyclamen white jasmine, peach, green apple, lavender rose, waterlily and a drydown of creamy amber, vanilla and rosewood.

I was intrigued by the concept of color coordinated with scent, but didn't really believe it would work. But when I smelled each color-coordinated scent, I began to realize that there might really be something to what Tod is doing. For me, at least, the colors I prefer in my life really did correspond well with the scents I liked the most.

The Palettes 10 oz candles are a soy blend in a frosted glass container that burns for approx. 80 hours. There’s also a 3.6 fl. Oz. Room Spray in a frosted glass bottle with polished silver spray pump and brushed silver cap. I love the idea of adding color-matched scent to your home.
