Laura Mercier Gilded Garden Collection grows lovely looks for Spring 2009

It has been a long time since The Advice Sisters have reviewed Laura Mercier, but I have always loved her products. They're easy to use, trendy but still easy to wear, high-performance, and reasonably affordable. I'm happy to re-introduce my readers to her lovely products, and hopefully win her new fans!

Here are a few of her "latest and greatest"




For Spring 2009 Laura Mercier features"Gilded Garden," a floral inspired collection of color cosmetics featuring her latest product: the The Gilded Garden Mosaic Shimmer Bloc in "Rose" $38.00. This large square of shimmery, light-reflecting color, is embossed with "flowers" of varying, rosy hues and a champagne shimmer. Together, the colors meld to give your cheeks a lovely, rosed flush. It looks elegant, not super-shimmery but enough to show every woman her true ability to glow. You can use it on your eyes or body as a highlight as well. It's oil-free and suitable for all skin types, and comes in the signature, Laura Mercier square, brown, mirrored compact. What a great treat for Spring!

I also tried out some of Laura's latest Lip products. Her Lip Stain $20.00 comes in a little glass pot, and gives you the moisturizing shine of a lip gloss, with the long-lasting color of a lipstick. The latest, "English Rose" is one of those colors that flatters everyone, and the color is intense but natural. "Hibiscus" is new and a brighter pink.

Laura Mercier's Lip Plumper $30.00 is also worthy of note, with a new color "Pink Pearl" that makes Spring just a little bit prettier. The slightly fruity, refreshing lip gloss has a cooling feeling that builds over 20 minutes to plump lips up to two hours. That's pretty amazing! But the wanded gloss does more than just color, and plump lips. It also treats them with hydration and moisture while it's ingredients actually penetrate skin, stimulating collagen production and s smoothing the surface. The colors are natural and not over-the-top intense so they're perfect day or evening, for weekends or for special events, or just "whatever."
