Yoga Toes! YAY! Great Find For Your Feet
Fashion Week is going to start in just a few days, and I'll be standing on my feet and walking....a lot! Thank heavens I've got Yoga Toes to help me relax and stretch my tired, cramped feet when I finally get home (downloading photos and uploading my up-close-and-personal reports from backstage and the runway).
Yoga Toes are flexible, plastic, hypo-allergenic, devices that look like little ladders, but once you place a toe in each "strut" and wear them a while, they really help to relieve toe and foot pain. It seems pretty incredible, but they do work...and they're so simple!
Basically, Yoga Toes do for your toes what gentle stretching exercises do for the rest of your body. There are other, similar devices (the company stresses: "beware of imitations") but in all honesty, I have tried other brands that also were effective, if not as pleasant and comfortable to use. Still, since YogaToes are the only patented, therapeutic and exercise device of its kind, made in the USA, and of FDA approved material, why not choose them?
Another advantage of Yoga Toes is that you can chill them (really great when your feet or hot, or it's hot outside), or wear them in a hot bath (water loosens and relaxes your muscles even more). I have a hot tub, and the combination of the effervescence, hot water, and gentle stretching makes my always-tired feet, fabulous!
Yoga Toes also come in two sizes. The Small will fit women's shoe sizes 5 1/2 to 11 medium and men's shoe sizes from 3 1/2 to 10 narrow. The Medium size fits women's shoe sizes all wide and up and men's shoe sizes 10 1/2 to 12. If you have compressed toes and are a man size 10 or under, start with the Small size Yoga Toes. if you are a borderline size or have narrow feet, also start with the Small size.
Putting the devices on your feet is easy, but your toes might rebel a little at first since they are probably not used to being stretched far apart. Once they're on your feet, you really can't walk around with them. You may not be able to wear them comfortably for more than 10 minutes at the beginning (work up to more if you wish). If they really hurt, they're probably not for you (or you should consult your doctor before continuing to use them). For most people, however, they will work wonders. The company claims that Yoga Toes will not just relax your feet, they can actually ease the discomfort of Hammertoes, Bunions, Plantar Fascitis, improve foot strength, flexibility and appearance, increase circulation, straighten bent toes, and realign joints, while also improving overall posture. I have no idea whether or not these claims are true *if you have used Yoga Toes or similar devices and have gotten these types of positive results, kindly leave a comment. However, Yoga Toes very definitely does reduce aches and pains in your feet, and they're a little spa treatment that is worth the very minimal investment.
