Fabulous Faces from Fashion Week 2/12/09 by Alison Blackman

Fashion Week for Fall 2009 has begun! Here are some of the fascinating people I was fortunate to photograph, today!

This morning I waited on a long line for my press credential. Keeping me company were Cognac Wellerlane, and Sam Morris, Creative Director of Raine Magazine. This is Sam's first season, but I'm willing to be it won't be his last--and what a nice guy! Waving to us from across the line was the lovely and talented fashion designer/model/actress/socialite, Esther Nash. She was chic and suitably dressed for the very windy weather. I, on the other hand, was seriously cold!

After all the models had their hair done, Nerida (on the right) and Altjana took a moment to pose. Don't they look cute in their Christo Ts?

Nerida also did me a fabulous favor and blew out my hair that had been completely blown to bits by winds up to 50mph today! She's going on tour with Britney Spears shortly, but for a moment, I was the one who felt like a star!

Backstage, I met Dex New York Makeup Artist BP Carmouche (here with one of the adorable models), who was kind enough to describe the pretty makeup look for me (see my next post on the Loris Diran Show to learn what was used). Their loose minerals were good, but the newest products have anti-aging properties. Look good, and stay that way, longer!

Hair was by the always charming Christo, whose Curlisto products are a godsend, especially for women with wavy and curly hair. The salon is at 574 Fifth Avenue on the 5th floor.

Before the show, there's always a rehersal. Nolé Marin helped style the Loris Diran show, and he's liking what he's seeing in the run-through. He's perhaps best known for being a judge on American's Next Top Model, but is a stylist and fashion industry figure, too.

As I left the Loris Diran show I spied Rosemary Ponzo (wearing seriously high stilettos with sexy platforms). She was fearlessly walking over a street grate. After she successfully traversed it, she graciously posed for a photo. Rosemary has the most wonderful outfits. This one was slightly "Japonesque," appropriate for the Japanese Armor theme of the Loris Diran show. Rosemary always looks amazing!
