If you can't afford fine jewelry from noted jeweler Van Cleef & Arpels , you can still douse (well, perhaps, just dab) on the new eau de parfum: Féerie, by Van Cleef & Arpels.
The cost of the scent eflects it's luxurious creator: Eau de Parfum 100ml/$150 Eau de Parfum 50ml/$110 Perfumed Body Cream 200ml/$100 Perfumed Body Lotion 150ml/$55 Perfumed Bath and Shower Gel 150ml/$45 But part of the cost, I should think, is the beautifully faceted, blue, Féerie bottle with a silver top featuring a moon flower cabochon and a tall, slender branch providing a perch for the graceful fairy on top. I didn't get the bottle on this one, but the photo does show an impressive bottle collectors will covet, and women will want to display on their dressing tables.
I didn't get the bottle and cannot really say more about the presentation or outer packaging other than what the photo shows. The Advice Sisters normally will not even review a product without it's actual bottle and packaging. But when you're thinking of spending $150 or even $100 for a luxe fragrance, it's nice to know that someone actually tested the scent within the bottle and can pass on some comments about it. So here goes:
The press literature calls it a "floral woody" scent, but Féerie, to smell, still smells more floral with a bit of fruit, than wood. In fact, as far as I can tell from the press notes, the only wood in the blend is Haitian Vetiver.
Top Notes: violet, blackcurrant, Italian mandarin, and poesy.
Heart Notes: Bulgarian Rose and rose essence bring, and Egyptian Jasmine.
Base Notes: Florentine Iris butter , and Haitian vetiver
Regardless, the light, feminine scent works well for everyday and will be wonderful in the warmer months, too. Paris Hilton just launched a "fairy-themed" fragrance this season as well, but hers is modestly priced, and very, very, youthful and fruity. Féerie is not a budget minded scent targeted to the youth market....or at least not solely to it. The notes will translate differently on everyone and the scent smells expensive and very pleasant. The bottle is pretty and romantic. In short, this is a "Stevie Nicks" fragrance for a woman who can afford good things, and believes that her dreams can come true.
